Google Fiber Award

J.P. Damico of OverTime IT Solutions Wins Top Honors in Google Fiber Business Competition

Duluth, Minnesota – March 19, 2010 – J.P. Damico, owner of OverTime IT Solutions, is one of five winners in the Google Fiber Idea Contest.

The Google Twin Ports Fiber Initiative recently ran a contest for anyone age 18 or older to provide an idea for a business they’d like to launch that would benefit from a fiber-to-the-home network like the one proposed by Google. Out of hundreds of ideas, five winners were chosen for the best business concepts.

Duluth Mayor Don Ness announced the contest on March 12, 2010. “Google is looking for creative, innovative communities to build their network and I want us to demonstrate that Duluth and Superior are among the most innovative and creative communities in the country when it comes to fiber based businesses,” said Ness.

Damico’s idea involved an interactive centralized entertainment network for the entire Twin Ports.  The project was made viable because of his expertise in the technology field.  Damico has owned and operated OverTime IT Solutions and After Hours Computer Repair in the Twin Ports for the last 4 years.  The expanding enterprise provides technology support and service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to businesses and residents.  “We’re Up When Your Computer Is Down!” Damico explains.

“Even in this economy, business is booming!  I have expanded to 100 additional cities across the Midwest and will be in over 200 cities nationwide by the end of the year.  Google Fiber in the Twin Ports would allow my business to continue to be headquartered in Duluth after the expansion as well as provide an infrastructure for my new Google Fiber Business Idea,” says Damico.
